I hope you are all doing well.
I am having a fantastic and busy week so far. On Sunday I took part in my first wedding exhibition. I was exhibiting at the largest wedding show in the Stirling area and I was fortunate enough to have my Sister, Kristina and one of my best friends, Lyndsay along with me to model, assist and most importantly support me.
I also used this opportunity to raise funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Scotland Charity. I very sadly lost my beautiful Mother In-Law to this awful disease on 29th November last year. I held a raffle for an amazing skincare hamper and a fabulous makeup hamper, I had put together. I also had the charity merchandise and support information available to pick up at my stand.
Here are some photos of the day:
The day was a big success for me I met so many wonderful people, new clients and fellow business owners alike, all while raising a nice sum of £65.23 for Pancreatic Cancer Scotland. Not bad in just a few short hours. I was so pleased to see the worthy winners with their hampers, they were both delighted and genuinely shocked to have won, just lovely.
On Monday I had my eyes tested as I had left my old practice just over 2 years ago and was in need of a check-up. I had also been struggling along with watery eyes, causing discomfort at the outer corners of my eyes and causing my eyeliner and eye shadows to run.
My optician diagnosed an allergic reaction and dry eyes and I am now using opticrom drops to clear up the inflammation, so no contact lenses for a week. On the plus side I have discovered a fantastic and budget friendly eyeliner, which stays put all day! Hello and welcome to my makeup collection Seventeen Tattoo Me Eyeliner (£4.99 and now on offer at Boots).
This liner really is budge proof and you will need a good oil based cleanser for easy and effective removal. My all time favourite and cleanser of choice for this job is the Origins Clean Energy (£23.50)
That brings me up to today, Tuesday, which also happens to be Lady Livia’s 2nd Birthday! She was so excited when we came downstairs this morning to balloons, banners and presents. She even had her big brothers sat down to a tea party with Peppa Pig and Belle, before they headed off to school.
In the afternoon Brian, Livia and I headed out to a shop opening – Blàthan. A really new and exciting concept for our town. It’s a business collaboration between Pretty Little Flowers (our friend Elaine’s business) and Venachar Lochside – combining amazing Floristry, beautiful, delicious cakes and a fantastic selection of quality coffees and teas by Brodies.
Blàthan is also stocking a gorgeous range of candles from The Ecosse Candle Company, which are some of the best scented candles I have ever come across. The candles are such good value for money, a large jar setting you back just £16.99, far more reasonable than some other jar candle brands I can think of.
So here are some snaps of what we enjoyed today:
Blàthan is going to be a fantastic asset to Callander, with the vision behind the shop to make it a destination for brides, when shopping for wedding flowers and wedding cake, as well as being a social hub – With lots of exciting things to come, including floral workshops, book clubs, arts and crafts evenings, hair and makeup trial evenings 😊, homework clubs and lots more! So a big well done to Blàthan, for bringing a little bit of boutique West end Glasgow living, to our wee town!
So that was a helluva lot of photos for one post, but that’s me up to speed for today! I am happy to report that Miss Livia has had a fantastic 2nd birthday and is now tucked up and fast asleep in bed, after her busy day.
Enjoy the rest of your week whatever you are doing and thanks once again for reading,
